Getting started with Kartra in 30 minutes

How to spin up a Kartra account, complete the onboarding call, build your first sales funnel, and connect your email list — end to end.

Before you start

  • An email address you control
  • A product or offer to sell (digital download, course, or consulting service is fine)
  • A working credit card for the trial signup (you can cancel anytime in the 14-day window)

Sign up for the 14-day free trial

Go to the Kartra signup page and pick the Starter plan to start. Kartra collects payment info up front but doesn't charge until day 15. You can downgrade to Essentials after the trial if you don't need unlimited emails.

Book the included onboarding call

Every paid Kartra plan includes a 1:1 onboarding call. Book it from the dashboard within the first day of your trial. The Kartra team walks you through account setup and answers any platform-specific questions. This is genuinely useful and free — don't skip it.

Connect your custom domain

Kartra includes one custom domain on every paid plan. Add yours under Settings > Domains. The DNS instructions are clear and most domain registrars propagate the change within 30 minutes. Test the domain by visiting your Kartra dashboard URL with the new hostname.

Build your first sales funnel from a template

Kartra ships with 100+ pre-built campaign templates. Pick one that matches your offer type (course, consulting, info product, etc.) and use Kartra's drag-and-drop funnel mapper to customize it. Don't try to design from scratch the first time — the templates are well-tested.

Connect Kartra Mail to your email list

Inside the funnel, every form is wired to Kartra's built-in email system. Test the form by entering your own email address, then check that the welcome sequence triggers correctly. If you have an existing list elsewhere, import the CSV under Contacts > Import.

Add your product and checkout

Under Products, add your offer with pricing, description, and thank-you page. Kartra Checkout is built in — no Stripe configuration needed beyond connecting your account. Test a free purchase using a coupon code that brings the price to zero.

Launch and track

Switch your funnel from draft to live, share the public URL on a single channel (email, social, ad), and watch the analytics in Kartra's dashboard for the first 24 hours. The funnel mapper shows where visitors drop off so you can iterate.
